What Rational Hedonism is IS and IS NOT
When people think of the word, "hedonism", they tend to think of nude beaches or sex parties, a table full of food and/or alcohol (and there's nothing wrong with that); but what the Greek philosophers tried to explain way back when, and the "happiness" psychologists are saying now, is that quick pleasures (even such as buying the latest iphone or ipad,) are great at that moment, but they quickly wear off, and leave one feeling down and looking around for something else.
Hedonism at it's most basic does deal with those fleeting indulgences of pleasure, but the "rational" part of Rational Hedonism is a religion which celebrates your mind and body, a longer term investment in you, breaking away from the concept that "more is better" and instead, discovering, "quality over quantity".
